Synchronize a folder
Drop a folder into Tiny AV Sync or choose it with Choose Folder. Include camera clips with audible reference sound and the separate recordings from the same takes. Matching needs clear, overlapping sound.
Tiny AV Sync compares the recordings, estimates their time offset and corrects reliable, steady clock drift by resampling. Short overlaps may be aligned without drift correction. Processing is local; no account or upload is needed.
Requires an Apple silicon Mac running macOS 15 or later.
Formats
Common MOV, MP4 and M4V videos, and WAV, AIFF, CAF, FLAC, M4A, AAC and MP3 recordings supported by macOS. Support depends on the codec and profile inside each file.
Matched output is MOV, with video passed through without re-encoding when supported and each matched recording in a separate 32-bit floating-point PCM audio track. Audio sample rate and channel separation are retained. Original compressed audio encoding and all metadata are not preserved.
Results
Results go into a new synced folder. Existing results and originals are not overwritten. Unmatched videos and unused audio are kept separately. avsync-report.json records matches, timing corrections, skipped files and warnings.
One recording may match several videos, and a video may have several matching recordings. Overlapping recordings remain separate tracks. Duplicate files can produce duplicate outputs or tracks. Listen to the results before editing.
Silence, unrelated or repeated sound, very short overlaps, edits and changing clock speeds may not produce a reliable match. Check Details for explanations. Cancel stops the current job; completed outputs remain.
Help
If folder access fails, choose the folder again. If there is not enough storage, free space for temporary audio and the new output files. Keep your originals.
